I’ve been living in Las Vegas for almost 7 years now, and when you’re a local you know the strip like the back of your hand. I remember hearing last year that the Mandarin Oriental was being bought out or taken over by Hilton (Waldorf Astoria) and was excited to visit the new property.
When I found out that Kopari was doing a takeover at the Waldorf Spa, I was all in! For those of you who don’t know, the Waldorf Astoria is a non-gaming property on the strip, so the noise and touristy foot traffic is very minimal.
When we checked in, we were shocked at how peaceful the atmosphere felt (compared to 500 people cramming in the door and smoking a cigarette in your face.) This is just preference. As locals, we prefer non-gaming properties when we stay on the strip.
*Thank you to Kopari Beauty and Waldorf Astoria for making this post possible. All opinions are my own.
I was freaking out when I saw that we had a whole spread of Kopari goodies in our hotel bathroom! Here’s a list of everything we got:
- Coconut Crush Scrub
- Coconut Melt
- Save Face Oil
- Coconut Oil Charcoal Toothpaste
- Coconut Oil Mint Toothpaste
- Coconut Face Cleanser
- Coconut Rose Toner
- Coconut Lip Glossy
We opened up the Coconut Crush and Coconut Melt right away and started a bath. This stuff smells incredible! Now I know why it is one of their best sellers.
Our whole hotel room was smelling like coconut! We had a really long week so honestly just wanted to order some food, relax and watch a movie. We both got comfy in the most relaxing robes and turned on the TV.
We were stoked to experience the pool and spa the next day (Saturday morning). We both fell asleep before 11 p.m. and when we woke up, agreed that the bed was extremely comfortable! It was also so nice to be able to control the drapes to let in some sunshine without having to leave the bed.
After some much needed rest we were ready to hit the pool! I ordered a fresh coconut, and Kyle ordered a pot of coffee. We soaked up some sun under the misters and ordered lunch. I got the chicken lettuce wraps and Kyle ordered the impossible burger (vegetarian). Both were really good! They also stocked our mini fridge with non-alcoholic beverages for us to enjoy. We also had a TV in our cabana, so we could watch football too! After a few hours we headed to the spa to check-in for our Kopari treatments.
Alright, this was my absolute favorite part of the whole trip. We were welcomed in the spa with an option of hot peppermint tea or iced seasonal tea while we waited to trade our street shoes with the spa shoes.
We ended up requesting last minute to have our treatments in the same room, and I’m so glad we did. We parted ways and the spa assistants gave us a tour. We met back up in the co-ed waiting room where we got to spend a few moments together before getting taken back to one of the couples suites.
I don’t have many pictures after this part, because it is a private experience and typically phones are not allowed in any spa areas. We had the most amazing time during our couples treatment and left feeling relaxed, smelling like coconut, and refreshed.
We both agreed that this was the nicest spa we have ever got to experience. We will be returning in the future!
